Spotted and Tabby Cats Packed Together Paint by Numbers Kit
Unlike a decorative pattern, these cats look like individual animals. A white long haired cat with pale blue eyes sits almost exactly in the middle of the canvas, its coat painted as long soft strands that fan out from the face. Above and around it are a chocolate tabby with clear forehead stripes, a black cat with green gold eyes and a broad flat nose, a blue grey striped kitten, a brown spotted cat with a mottled coat, and a ginger striped cat along the bottom edge whose whiskers cross most of the frame. Colours run from inky black and deep brown through warm cream, oatmeal and silver grey to soft blue, with almost no bright pigment anywhere, and every head is cropped tight so the fur of one touches the fur of the next.
The interest here lies in coat markings rather than in shape, and that changes how the canvas should be approached. Stripes and spots are made of two adjacent values of the same colour rather than two different colours, so the tabby grey needs its darker grey, and the ginger needs its deeper amber, and it is the relationship between those pairs that reads as fur. The eyes are the only saturated notes on the whole canvas, a few gold green and blue accents, and holding them back until the end gives each cat its expression. Because most of the palette is neutral, it is worth keeping the brush clean between faces so warm browns do not drift into the cool greys.
